Friday Lunch Halloween

For our weekly Friday lunch, Molly wore her costume and Ruby had a pumpkin outfit.

Aunt Holly & the pumpkin, I mean Ruby.

the devil girls

and with red eye removed, Ruby is still a devil. Time will tell how true this may be.

Not sure why Molly is crying in this picture, but it's the only one I have of her in her fun glasses.

crazy and sweet

Frank the Tank (you have to have seen "Old School" to get this one).

Molly sharing her pumpkin with Ruby. Yes she decorated it herself. Can't you tell? And a kiss. :)

Halloween

We went to a Halloween party. Here is Molly enjoying the rocking baby bouncers. I tried to tell her they were for babies, but Kim, the host mom said her (older & bigger) kids, Lucas & Leona, still use them.

All the kiddos: Molly the butterfly, Arielle the ladybug, Lucas is Nemo, Leona the fairy princess, Benji the turtle, Will is Darth Vader, Parker is Thomas the Train, Peirson the dinosaur, and Gus. Not pictured: Ruby, Emma, and Benedict (the second siblings).

the little joker

Molly has started joking around. I'll ask her where something is and she'll say "on my head? no. in my mouth? no." etc and laugh.

Molly & Corey were looking at a book. Corey was asking Molly what each animal said. They looked a dog and she said "woof woof, bark bark". They looked at a horse, she said "neigh". Then they looked at the dog again and she said "neigh" and laughed. They did this over and over, but by the time I got the camera, it was old and Ruby was crying. But worth a shot.

the beginning & end of a day

snuggles while we wait for Daddy to make us breakfast.
(OK, so Ruby couldn't wait.)

Ruby trying to hold the sit and not fall over on the couch.
She has a nice grip on that blankie though.

And what a help she is!

Leaves are fun!

Pumpkins!

Who are these ghosts?!
I think it might be Kaylin and Molly.

Molly stopped and picked a pumpkin out of each grouping.

Standing among the little pumpkins.

Daddy trying to help Molly pick a good one.

She found one!

Of course there was a slide and we had to try it!

"Again!" even though it was a slow slide and she had to scoot the whole way down.

Molly wasn't too sure about the goats.
No, I didn't have some extreme makeover. That is Kristi and Kaylin.

Here's Ruby and I! Ruby slept the whole time there.

Molly checking out all Kaylin's toys and Kaylin checking out Molly, right before she (Kaylin) shows us her roll over. There was a lot of "you're too big for that, Molly." It should be interesting when we get the jumper and exersaucer out for Ruby.

how we spend our day

Ruby doing her thing.
Molly thought Ruby needed the socks and mittens with rattles in them on.

Sometimes you just have to be playing on the floor (and someone else records it from a bad angle).

smiles & stats

Ruby had her 2 month appt today. It was a few weeks late to allow her pedi to get back from maternity leave.
Ruby stats: 2.5 months, 25inches (100%- off the chart really), 12lbs 10 oz (80%), head 40cm (60%). Molly got her flu shot and hardly flinched. Molly told Ruby "It's ok, Ruby" when Ruby got her shots. Ruby cried and SCREAMED. Molly said "Ruby got a boo-boo".

Molly also took a nap today! She's been missing them a lot lately. She sits in bed and sings. It's cute, but I like it when she naps. Maybe the trick is to give her stickers for being good like at the drs office and then take them away for nap time and she can cry herself to sleep. Just kidding! But that's how today went.

kicky feet version 2

Molly being a crazy kid...

and now 2 videos of "kicky feet". Both girls burn off energy before bed by wildly kicking their feet. Hey, whatever works, right?

Lips & Mustaches

Molly's smoothie 'stache

Mama's yarn 'stache (and a comatose Ruby)

For Corey's birthday, the girls all got wax lips and the boys got mustaches.
Molly couldn't figure it out.
It was hard for us to all keep it together.

Daddy's birthday

Corey had a birthday so I dressed the girls up in cute matching outfits.

Molly made Daddy wear beads. At least they're blue!

Letter E

Molly at Letter E day. Trust me, she has more fun than this picture implies. This was the end. I think she was contemplating it all.
Molly has been participating in Letter of the week activities that a few super moms that we know (thanks Jenn and Kim!) plan. This week was Letter E. We read books about animals that lay eggs and elephants. We filled plastic eggs with beans to make rattles. We did color sorting and counting with plastic eggs. We did puzzle matching with egg shapes with patterns and letters.

We practiced making "E"s and "e"s in shaving cream- Molly REALLY likes this.

We colored "e"s and glued dyed eggshells on them.

Then the kids did egg races in the hallway. This was good to get Molly to "run around" and to go a distance away from me and to play by herself (without me) with other kids.

Then we had a snack (deviled Eggs).
THEN we sang a song and said good bye to our friends and cleaned up. WHEW! I'm tired just typing it all! Such fun!

And Molly is retaining the letters so far. The other day she was putting foam letters in the tub and saying "what's that?" for letters she didn't know and being very proud of the letters she did know. Exciting! She does this with letter magnets too.

diapers

"pink diaper goes on butt"
She did this with the whole basket, naming each color diaper.
When the basket makes it upstairs, she puts them all away, where they go.
I hope she keeps this up. She puts the silverware and cutting boards away too when I empty the dishwasher. She thinks these things are for her to do and gets mad if I do it and that she can't do more.

beads

Fill up the box and dump it out. Again and again and again.

Abcs

The abcs. Ruby is really just trying to cheer Molly on at the end.

BOO!

Molly is a Ghost!

pickle eating

what Molly says is "pickle eating". But obviously she isn't eating the pickle. She says "baby eating" or "teddy eating" or "elmo eating" etc when she's "breastfeeding" them. But she has put pickles on her belly since I was pregnant. We're just not sure about this, but every time she has a pickle spear, this is what she does.

bones

Ruby

Molly being cheesy.
She loves to wear the tutu and the vest at the same time.

Sisterly Love

The "bones" on these outfits glow in the dark.
Molly has pants (they are really pjs) that have bones on them too.
